We are looking for a source for meat chicks that is not Frey's. We tried their meat birds last year and were disappointed with how fast they grew and with their taste. Any ideas?

We also like to purchase around 6 older layers each spring for our small backyard flock - ones that have just finished their first moult. Do you have hens like this that you would sell?

How do I get my money to you?

Hello,
We are fairly new to the area and looking for fresh lamb. We are not here during the winter so the info you have provided does not make to much sense for us. As well we are thinking of buying some lamb for our sone and his family. I have never bought aq complete lamb so I am not to familiar with all the cuts. Would you please let me know what choices I have and the cost.
Thank you.

I have the same question as someone awhile back--do you need any help at your farm so my son could learn the ropes? He's always wanted a farm but I raised him in the city. Please advise. Thanks!

My story is just the same as that of Emily. I also grew up on a farm here in Nigeria, but life lead me elsewhere (IT dept of a bank), I wake up daily and go to sit in front of a computer for at least 10 hours a day, then spen another 2 hours driving in the hectic traffic situation in Lagos (Nigeria) after closing and now I am yearning to go back to the farm. I am passionately considering it and i know sooner than later, i will.

Good Afternoon!

I just wanted to say how much I love your website! Sometimes its hard to find "the sunshine amidst the rain", especially when I dread every morning I wake up and go to sit in front of a computer for 9 hours a day. I grew up on a farm, but life lead me elsewhere, and now I am yearning to go back.

The "How to start a farm #1" reminded me of the times when I did go outside in Siberian blizzzard weather to fetch firewood, and got lost in the snow on the way back, or the times I broke my toe when I kicked the barn so hard because I caught a Coyote in my duck pen.

Thanks again and I wish you the best in your endeavors! I hope to one day enjoy such "joys" of farming :)
